Naryn Nomad Festival in Naryn
Organized by the University of Central Asia's Naryn campus, the International Nomad Festival brings storytelling, theatre, film screenings, and musical performance to Kyrgyzstan's cold mountain provincial capital each September, drawing close to 500 guests to its fourth edition's opening night. A companion Nomad International Film Festival strand screens work from emerging Central Asian directors alongside panel discussions and creative-writing sessions.
Naryn town, the chilly highland provincial capital roughly three hours from Bishkek, has hosted the International Nomad Festival since its founding at the University of Central Asia's local campus, an event that by its fourth edition in September 2025 drew close to 500 guests to its opening night alone.
