Oudomxay Ethnic Culture Festival

Oudomxay Province, home to more than fourteen ethnic groups led by the Khmu, has hosted a multi-day Ethnic Festival showcasing performances, costumes and crafts representing its diverse communities. It complements individual group celebrations already held locally, including the Khmu harvest festival Teck Neum and the Hmong New Year.

Oudomxay Province, home to more than fourteen distinct ethnic groups including the Khmu, who form the largest single community and are often described locally as guardians of the land for their long-settled presence across northern Laos, alongside sizable Hmong and Lao Loum populations, has periodically hosted a dedicated Ethnic Festival bringing together performers and communities from across the province's diverse population.
