Conversation Festival LAMPA in Cesis

LAMPA is Latvia's largest civic-dialogue festival, a free open-air weekend in Cēsis Castle Park each July where citizens, experts and public figures gather to talk rather than perform. Inspired by Nordic-Baltic democracy festivals in Denmark, Sweden and Estonia, and running since 2015, LAMPA turns conversation itself into the main event, drawing well over a thousand participants across dozens of venues around the town.

Every July, Cēsis Castle Park stops being simply a scenic backdrop and becomes something closer to an open-air parliament of ideas.
