Ikskile Town Festival in Ikskile
Ikskile's best-documented festival is the International Operetta Festival, held each August at the town's historic open-air stage on the Daugava. Running from August 10 to 16, it blends operetta, musicals, opera, chamber music, and jazz across more than 70 local and international artists. Billed as the largest outdoor music event in Latvia and among the biggest in the Baltics, it turns the small riverside town into a destination for a week of large-scale outdoor performance.
Ikskile is a small town on the Daugava River, roughly midway between Riga and the historic sites of the river valley, and for one week each August it becomes host to a music event whose scale far outstrips its size.
