Liepaja International Stars Festival in Liepaja
The Liepāja International Stars Festival is one of Latvia's most important classical-music events, run by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra since its 1993 debut as the International Piano Stars Festival, founded by Imants Resnis. The 2026 edition, its 34th, takes place March 1-14 and features violinist Yuki Hirano, clarinettist Annelien van Wauwe, jazz pianist Hiromi, cellist Bartosz Koziak and pianist Krzysztof Książek.
Liepāja calls itself a city where the wind makes music, but each March it is the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra that takes over that role, hosting one of Latvia's most consequential classical-music events.
