Summer Sound in Liepaja

Summer Sound is Liepāja's flagship beachside music festival, held each year on the city's northern beach since 2011 and drawing more than 30,000 attendees. The 2026 edition runs July 31 to August 1, with a lineup spanning Hardwell, Alan Walker, Sigma and Gogol Bordello. Tickets range from around 80 to 200 euros, and the setting pairs big-stage concerts with the dunes and open sea of Latvia's UNESCO Creative City of Music.

Liepāja has long punched above its weight in Latvian music: the western port city holds UNESCO Creative City of Music status, awarded in 2014, a recognition rooted in generations of local music education, its symphony orchestra, and a strong tradition of homegrown bands and composers.
