Golden Microphone Awards in Ventspils
The Golden Microphone Awards, known in Latvian as Zelta Mikrofons, is Latvia's leading music-industry prize, established in 1995 and often described as the country's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. The 30th-anniversary ceremony was held at the Olympic Center Ventspils on February 28, honoring winners across 20 categories chosen from 315 submissions spanning 140 albums, 57 songs, 74 music videos, 38 debut albums and 6 concert-recording videos. The ceremony was broadcast live on TV3.
Since 1995, Zelta Mikrofons, the Golden Microphone, has functioned as Latvia's clearest answer to the question of which recording deserves the country's highest industry recognition.
