Trakai Medieval Festival in Trakai

For two days each summer, Trakai Peninsula Castle fills with costumed reenactors, craftspeople and knights staging sword and battleaxe tournaments beside Lake Galve. Organized by the Trakai History Museum next to the famous Island Castle, the festival mixes medieval combat, music, crafts and period food for day-tripping families from Vilnius.

Trakai Peninsula Castle becomes a working reconstruction of a medieval town for two days each summer, when the Trakai Medieval Festival draws craftspeople, reenactors and musicians into the grounds beside Lake Galve.
