The Vilnius Christmas Market fills Cathedral Square from late November through early January, centered on a towering Christmas tree decorated with thousands of handmade ornaments from Lithuanian artisans. More than 150 wooden chalets sell hand-knitted woolens, wood carvings, and treats like glazed gingerbread and mulled wine. A free Christmas train links Cathedral Square to Town Hall Square, where visitors also find a nativity scene with live animals and an ice rink.
