The story

MooFest in Rockhal Esch

MooFest is a one-day rock and metal festival held at the Rockhal Club in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. Built around a lineup of local and touring bands, the event channels every entrance and artist fee into the Fondation Thierry van Werveke, a foundation supporting young musicians, artists and cultural diversity. The evening also serves as a tribute to Luxembourgish musicians who have passed away, folding remembrance into a night of live music.

Esch-sur-Alzette grew up as an iron and steel town in southern Luxembourg, and its industrial-era halls have since been repurposed for culture, none more prominent than the Rockhal, the country's national concert venue built on former industrial land.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

What sets MooFest apart is its charitable structure: rather than paying performers or keeping ticket revenue, organizers direct all proceeds to the Fondation Thierry van Werveke, which backs emerging artists and musicians and promotes cultural diversity in Luxembourg

02

The mystery stays covered

The lineup mixes homegrown acts such as SUPERDRIVE, Fallen Lies, Weakonstruction, MooF and Scarlet Anger, giving the local rock and metal scene a stage while honoring musicians from the community who have died

03

The city starts moving

That combination of grassroots music and memorial giving gives the night a purpose beyond a typical club show, turning a single evening at the Rockhal into a small act of collective remembrance and support
