Festival Sobahya in Katsepy
Festival Sobahya is an annual cultural festival in Katsepy, in Madagascar's Boeny region, launched in 2002 to celebrate Sakalava-Antalaotsy heritage. Held each August, recent editions running August 8-10, it combines music, dance, traditional Sakalava clothing and everyday customs with a program of theatre, a football tournament and sea-based competitions along the coast.
Festival Sobahya began in 2002 in Katsepy, a coastal town in Madagascar's Boeny region on the northwest coast, as a way to promote and preserve Sakalava-Antalaotsy culture.
