Somaroho Festival in Nosy Be
Somaroho Festival is a major annual cultural event on Nosy Be founded by musician Wawa, whose name in the Sakalava dialect means to live life in total freedom without disturbing others. The 2026 edition, the 13th, runs August 5-9 at Ambodivoanio stadium, opening with a carnival and featuring around thirty Malagasy musicians from all six provinces alongside international guests.
Somaroho Festival was founded by the musician Wawa on Nosy Be, the island off Madagascar's northwest coast known as one of the country's most visited destinations.
