Maki Run Trail de Nosy Komba in Nosy Komba/Ampangorina
The Maki Run is an annual one-day trail race created in 2012 on Nosy Komba, a car-free, electricity-free island near Hell-Ville. It offers a 30km course with 2,500m of elevation gain, a 20km course with 1,400m of gain, a Maki Junior 6km race for ages 12 and up, and a baby run through Hell-Ville village.
Nosy Komba, a small island near Hell-Ville off Madagascar's northwestern coast, stands out for lacking both cars and grid electricity, conditions that have preserved a landscape of narrow paths, dense vegetation and steep terrain largely untouched by motorized development.
