Borneo Marathon in Kota Kinabalu
The Borneo Marathon, held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, debuted on October 12, 2008, as the first marathon held in the state in over 20 years, drawing just 529 runners in its inaugural year. The race has since grown into a major highlight of the Southeast Asian marathon calendar, now held annually in May and offering marathon, half marathon, and 10K categories organized by the community-driven Kinabalu Running Club.
