Sekinchan Paddy Field Festival in Sekinchan
Sekinchan, a fishing and rice-farming town in Selangor known for producing some of Malaysia's highest-yield paddy, held what was reported as the country's first dedicated paddy field festival in April 2025, drawing visitors for scenic golden-field views, cultural showcases and hands-on exposure to rice cultivation and processing. The town's flat, well-irrigated paddy plains have long made it a popular day-trip destination even outside festival dates.
Long before anyone organized a formal festival, Sekinchan had already earned a reputation among Malaysian day-trippers for one simple reason: its paddy fields are extraordinarily photogenic.
