Festival Fari Foni Waati in Bamako
Fari Foni Waati (FFW) is an international contemporary dance festival in Bamako whose Bambara name means the time of bodies in movement. Created in 2016 and based at the Complexe Culturel Blonba in Bacodjicoroni, it is organized by the association De Ceux Qui with Blonba and the Jiriladon dance company. Its 10th edition opened its call for applications for January 2026, combining a creative-residency laboratory phase with public performances.
Fari Foni Waati takes its name from Bambara, translating roughly to the time of bodies in movement, a fitting title for a festival built specifically around contemporary dance in a country whose international cultural reputation rests more heavily on music.
