Festival Vivre Ensemble Tombouctou in Timbuktu
Festival Vivre Ensemble de Tombouctou is a peace and social-cohesion festival in Timbuktu, its name meaning living together, promoting coexistence among the city's Songhai, Tuareg, Arab and Fulani communities after the 2012-2013 occupation that damaged Timbuktu's Sufi shrines and manuscript libraries. It overlaps thematically with other Timbuktu peace and unity events, including the separately named Festival de la Paix de Tombouctou, and may represent a related rather than fully distinct initiative.
Festival Vivre Ensemble Tombouctou is a community peace and cultural-cohesion initiative created in response to the social, emotional and economic damage left by conflict in northern Mali.
