Anbalao Challenge in Gris-Gris to Anse La Raie
The Anbalao Challenge is a women-only, multi-stage trail race organized by Rando-Trail and Nature that traverses Mauritius from south to north over two days and four stages, running from Gris-Gris on the southern coast to Anse la Raie in the north. Its tagline, Twa osi to kapav, is Mauritian Creole for you too can do it, and the 2026 edition covered roughly 130 kilometers with about 2,900 meters of cumulative elevation gain.
The Anbalao Challenge is one of the most ambitious trail events on the Mauritian calendar, a women-only crossing of the entire island run over two days and four stages by Rando-Trail and Nature, the association also responsible for races like La Ferme Trail and Raid West.
