Dodo Trail in Le Morne/Tamarin
The Dodo Trail is a trail running event in southwestern Mauritius, taking its name from the island's extinct flightless bird and using the rugged coastal and mountain terrain around Le Morne and Tamarin as its course. It sits within Mauritius's growing trail-running calendar, which makes use of the island's volcanic hills, forest reserves and coastline for off-road distance events.
Southwestern Mauritius, where the UNESCO-listed peak of Le Morne Brabant meets the surf beaches of Tamarin, has become one of the settings for the island's expanding trail-running scene, and the Dodo Trail is among the events that make use of this terrain.
