Festival de Calaveras in Aguascalientes
The Festival de Calaveras, also called the Feria de las Calaveras, is one of Aguascalientes' most important traditional events, held around Day of the Dead each autumn. Centered on the old Barrio de Guadalupe near the Los Angeles and La Cruz cemeteries, it features a calaveras parade, a skull-themed craft market called the Tianguis de las Calaveras, a living altar, and traditional food.
Every autumn, as Day of the Dead approaches, the city of Aguascalientes turns one of its oldest neighborhoods into a stage for one of the most distinctive traditional events in the state: the Festival de Calaveras, also known as the Feria de las Calaveras.
