Hramul Carutasilor si Cailor in Bravicea
Hramul Carutasilor, the Carters' Feast, was initiated in 2017 by the Bravicea Town Hall in Moldova's Calarasi district to promote respect for horses and carts and to support the traditional carter profession. The festival features horse presentations by a riding club from Budesti, amateur artistic performances, a fanfare, craft competitions and exhibitions of traditional carts, held under themes reflecting rural heritage.
Hramul Carutasilor si Cailor exists to keep a fading rural profession visible: the carter, whose horse-drawn cart once served as essential transportation across Moldova's countryside but has been steadily displaced by motor vehicles.
