Chisinau Marathon in Chisinau
Chisinau Marathon, also called the Chisinau International Marathon, ranks as Moldova's biggest sporting event, held annually since 2015 and typically drawing over 17,000 participants from 50 countries. Offering 5km, 10km, 21km half-marathon and 42km marathon distances on a fast, flat course centered on Piata Marii Adunari Nationale along Boulevard Stefan cel Mare, the 2026 edition is scheduled for September 13.
In just over a decade, the Chisinau Marathon has grown from a new addition to Moldova's sporting calendar into the country's largest organized sporting event, an achievement measured plainly in numbers: more than 17,000 participants typically travel from 50 countries to take part each year.
