The story

Maraton La Fetesti in Fetesti

Maraton la Fetesti is organized by the NGO Run Moldova and based at the Fetesti Tourism Promotion Center. The 2026 edition, scheduled for July 5, offers a 43km marathon with 900m of elevation gain starting at 6am, a 23km semi-marathon starting at 8am, and a 14km cross race, all running through the Fetesti Reserve, Mica Elvetie, the Trinca canyon and the La Castel reserve's cave labyrinths and rock formations.

Maraton la Fetesti takes its character directly from the landscape it runs through.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The terrain sets Maraton la Fetesti apart from a typical road marathon

02

The mystery stays covered

Runners pass through the Fetesti Reserve and an area known locally as Mica Elvetie, or Little Switzerland, before entering the Trinca canyon and the La Castel reserve, where cave labyrinths and rock formations turn sections of the course into something closer to a natural landmark tour than a standard race route

03

The city starts moving

With 900m of elevation gain over the full 43km distance, the marathon in particular demands genuine trail-running endurance rather than flat-road pacing

04

The water draws everyone in

Offering three distinct formats, the full marathon, a 23km semi-marathon and a 14km cross race, lets the event draw both serious endurance runners and those seeking a shorter but still scenic challenge, all within the same reserve landscape on a single race day
