Dulce Floare de Salcam in Vaslui/Moldova folk area
Dulce Floare de Salcam is an ethno-folkloric festival held each May in Valeni village, Cahul district, along the Prut River amid blooming acacia trees. Folklore collectives from Moldova and neighboring Romanian counties gather for a parade of traditional dress, a village hora circle dance, and a folk-music concert, valorizing spring-summer traditions.
Valeni, a village in Cahul district sitting along the banks of the Prut River, holds a natural advantage few festival sites can claim: each May, the acacia trees lining the riverside come into bloom, filling the air with the sweet scent that gives Dulce Floare de Salcam its name.
