Trail Desert Agafay takes runners into the rocky, mineral landscape of the Agafay Desert, about 40 kilometers from Marrakech. Organized by Trail Maroc, the 2026 edition runs November 21-22 with five running distances from an 11km Bedouin Trail to an 83km Grand Challenge combining mountain biking and running. Courses cross rolling tracks, dry wadis and Amazigh villages, with Atlas Mountain views framing much of the terrain.

The Agafay Desert sits close enough to Marrakech that visitors often mistake it for an easy day trip, yet its rocky, mineral terrain feels worlds apart from the city's palm groves and gardens.
