Printemps Musical des Alizes is Morocco's only classical-music festival, held free of charge each spring in the UNESCO-listed medina of Essaouira. Launched in 2001 at the initiative of economist Andre Azoulay and Mohammed Annaji, the festival brings roughly twelve concerts to the city's historic squares and courtyards, alongside a musical walk through the streets and a showcase for young conservatory talent.

Printemps Musical des Alizes was created in 2001 through the joint initiative of Andre Azoulay, an economist and adviser to the Moroccan royal court, and Mohammed Annaji, with a founding idea that remains unusual among classical-music festivals worldwide: every concert would be free and open to the public.
