Wawgant Toubkal Trail in Imlil
The Wawgant Toubkal Trail brings mountain runners to Imlil, a village nicknamed Little Chamonix at the base of Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak. Scheduled for June 12-13, 2027, the race offers 10km, 21km and 42km distances with elevation gains up to 3,160 meters. The 21km Wawgant Goat Trail qualifies for ITRA points toward major international races including UTMB.
Imlil has long served as the gateway for climbers heading up Mount Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak, earning the village its nickname of Little Chamonix among mountaineers who pass through on their way to the summit.
