Festival de Tete in Tete
A city festival concept for Tete, the Zambezi River capital of Tete Province and a historic Swahili trade center whose name derives from the local Nyungwe word for reed, though no confirmed recurring event under this exact name was located.
Tete owes both its name and its character to the Zambezi River, the waterway that carried Swahili traders inland long before Portuguese colonizers arrived and that still splits the city today, crossed by two of the only four bridges spanning the river anywhere in Mozambique.
