Damara Gaob Festival in Okombahe

The Damara Gaob Festival, also called Gaob Fees, is an annual two-day cultural gathering held each November in Okombahe, a settlement in the Erongo Region roughly 60 kilometers north of Omaruru. Running since the early 1970s, it unites clans of the Nu-khoen, or Damara people, in traditional dress, music, dance, and storytelling, honoring past leaders and the unity of the community's 34 clans.

The Damara Gaob Festival, known locally as Gaob Fees, has been held in the settlement of Okombahe since the early 1970s, making it one of the longest continuously running indigenous cultural gatherings in Namibia.
