Milkshake Festival in Amsterdam
Milkshake Festival is Amsterdam's explicitly queer music and arts festival, held each July at Westergasfabriek. Founded in 2012 by clubbing organizations Paradiso and AIR, it draws performers and attendees across gender identity, race and sexual orientation, combining dance music with drag, performance art and elaborate costume culture over two sold-out days.
In 2012, two of Amsterdam's most established clubbing organizations, Paradiso and AIR, launched Milkshake Festival with a clear founding purpose: create an outdoor festival where queer culture, gender fluidity and radical self-expression were not tolerated but actively celebrated as the main event.
