Roadburn Festival in Tilburg
Roadburn Festival is an annual experimental and extreme music festival held every April in Tilburg, Netherlands, centered on the venue 013 and the surrounding Spoorzone district. Founded in 1999 by Walter Hoeijmakers and Jurgen van den Brand, growing out of a stoner-rock blog of the same name, the festival draws around 4,000 attendees per day, roughly 75 percent of whom travel from outside the Netherlands. Its programming has evolved from stoner rock toward a broader mission the festival describes as redefining heaviness.
Roadburn Festival began, in 1999, as an extension of a stoner-rock blog, the work of Walter Hoeijmakers and Jurgen van den Brand, and more than two decades later it has grown into one of the reference points for experimental and extreme music in Europe, still staged every April in Tilburg, Netherlands.
