Gidi Culture Festival in Lagos
Gidi Culture Festival is an annual one-day music and arts festival in Lagos, co-founded by Chinedu Okeke and Oriteme Banigo in 2014 and produced by Eclipse Live Production. Often described as Lagos's answer to Coachella, it typically takes place over the Easter weekend each year.
Gidi Culture Festival began in 2014 when Chinedu Okeke and Oriteme Banigo, working through Eclipse Live Production, set out to fill a void in Lagos nightlife left by the shuttered Lekki Sound Splash, a festival once headlined by Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti.
