Lokum Fest Bitola in Bitola
Lokum Fest is an ethno-fusion and world-music festival held since 2007 in Bitola's 15th-century Ottoman-era Old Bazaar, typically running around July 17 to 19. Free and open-air, the festival is named for the local custom of sharing coffee and lokum, or Turkish delight, with neighbors as a gesture of welcome, and has hosted 92 bands from 25 countries over 18 editions.
Bitola's Old Bazaar, a commercial district dating to the 15th century and shaped by centuries of Ottoman-era trade, has long served as a gathering point for the city.
