MakFest Stip in Shtip

MakFest is the largest festival of Macedonian popular music, founded in 1986 and held each November at the Aco Sopov Cultural Center in Shtip. Produced by Macedonian Radio and Television, the festival has generated more than 1,000 compositions, many now considered evergreens, and was named Festival of the Year by FIDOF in 1997.

Since its founding in 1986, MakFest has held a distinct position in North Macedonia's musical life as the country's largest festival dedicated specifically to Macedonian popular music.
