Christmas in the Marianas in Saipan
Christmas in the Marianas is Saipan's signature holiday celebration, staged across successive Saturday evenings each December at the Paseo de Marianas promenade in Garapan. Organized by the Marianas Visitors Authority, it pairs a lit Christmas parade and a school costume and caroling contest with indigenous Chamorro and Carolinian cultural showcases, closing out the season with a Japanese Mochitsuki mochi-pounding ceremony on December 30.
Every December, the seafront promenade of Paseo de Marianas in Garapan becomes the stage for Saipan's most sustained public celebration of the year.
