Nordland Music Festival Week in Bodo
Nordland Musikkfestuke is an annual music and arts festival in Bodo, held in week 32 each year around the Olsok holiday since it began in 1980 as a one-day Olsok celebration called Olsokdagene i Bodo. Reorganized as a foundation and renamed in 1989, it now spans classical, church, and rhythmic music across venues from a cathedral to a hilltop fort.
Bodo, a coastal city above the Arctic Circle in Nordland county, has held some form of summer cultural gathering since 1980, when six individuals, fourteen cultural organizations, and six municipalities across the Salten region joined the county council to launch a one-day event called Olsokdagene i Bodo, the Olsok Days in Bodo, timed to the traditional Norwegian observance of Saint Olaf's feast day.
