Holmenkollen Ski Festival Nordic World Cup in Oslo
Held every March since 1892, except in 1898 and during the Second World War, the Holmenkollen Ski Festival is often called Norway's second national day. The 2026 edition takes place March 14 and 15 at the Holmenkollen National Ski Arena, combining World Cup cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined events at a venue that has hosted Nordic World Ski Championships medal events in 1930, 1966, 1982 and 2011.
The Holmenkollen Ski Festival traces back to 1892, when the first ski jumping competition on the hill drew roughly twelve thousand spectators, a remarkable crowd for a winter sport event at the time and an early sign of how central skiing already was to Norwegian life.
