Hollafest in Svolvaer
Hollafest, officially spelled Hollafaest, is a music festival held each July on the small island of Svinoya just outside Svolvaer, the heart of Lofoten. Concerts are staged in and around the town's traditional wooden fish-drying racks, pairing contemporary Norwegian music with one of Lofoten's most recognizable cultural landmarks.
Svolvaer calls itself the heart of Lofoten, and each July a small island just offshore, Svinoya, becomes the setting for a festival that uses the region's most iconic working landscape as its stage.
