Chitral Jashn-e-Qaqlasht in Qaqlasht Plateau
Chitral Jashn-e-Qaqlasht is a four-day annual festival held each April at the Qaqlasht Plateau, a high meadow near Mastuj in Upper Chitral, featuring traditional sports and music at roughly 2,500 meters elevation, distinct from Chitral's other well-known festivals, the Shandur Polo Festival and the Kalash Chilam Joshi.
Chitral district, tucked into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's far northwest against the Afghan border and the high Hindu Kush, is unusually rich in distinct annual festivals for a single district, and Jashn-e-Qaqlasht, the Qaqlasht Festival, is one of three that a visitor needs to keep straight.
