Festival de Isla Taboga in Taboga Island
Festival de Isla Taboga celebrates the flower-covered island a short ferry ride from Panama City, centered on the island's mid-July patronal devotion to the Virgen del Carmen, patron of fishermen and sailors, and its colonial-era church, among the oldest in the Western Hemisphere.
Taboga Island sits close enough to Panama City that its silhouette is visible from the capital's waterfront, yet its pace and character belong to an entirely different Panama.
