Skeleton Tribe Festival in Narku/Kundiawa
The Skeleton Tribe Festival gathers more than ten tribes each June in the village of Mindima, in Papua New Guinea's Simbu province, for a day of singsings and traditional ceremony. Centered at the Skeleton Tribe Eco Lodge in the Narku region, the event brings together the host Skeleton Tribe with allied groups such as the Dust Shakers and Insect Hunters, showcasing dance forms rooted in highland custom.
Each June, the village of Mindima, tucked into the Narku region of Papua New Guinea's Simbu province, becomes a meeting ground for highland communities who otherwise keep to their own valleys and ridgelines.
