Pinyasan Festival in Daet
Daet, Camarines Norte celebrates its Queen Formosa pineapple crop each June 15 to 24 with the Pinyasan Festival, running since 1993, featuring the Baile sa Pinyasan street dance in pineapple-inspired costume and a pineapple-themed food market. The festival began modestly in 1993 and now ranks among Camarines Norte's most colorful annual celebrations.
Daet, the capital of Camarines Norte, built one of Bicol's most colorful festivals around a single crop variety: the Queen Formosa pineapple, a fruit locals describe as having a uniquely sweet flavor that avoids the itchy or irritating aftertaste sometimes associated with other pineapple varieties.
