Aggao Nac Cagayan in Tuguegarao/Cagayan Province
Aggao Nac Cagayan, meaning Cagayan Day in the Ibanag language, is the province-wide founding anniversary of Cagayan, held around June 29 to mark the 1583 establishment of its Spanish civil government. Centered in provincial capital Tuguegarao, it is best known for the Pabbarayle Cultural Dance Parade, where every municipality performs its own local festival dance.
In 1583, the Spanish colonizer Juan de Salcedo established Ciudad Nueva Segovia in what is now Cagayan province, marking the region's formal incorporation into the colonial civil government.
