Actus Humanus in Gdansk

Actus Humanus is billed as Poland's largest early-music festival, held in Gdansk each year since 2011 under founding artistic director Filip Berkowicz, presenting baroque and pre-baroque repertoire performed by leading European period-instrument ensembles. Running across several days each spring, it gathers period-instrument specialists from across Europe into Gdansk's historic churches and concert halls for a themed program.

Actus Humanus was founded in Gdansk in 2011 by Filip Berkowicz, a musicologist trained at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow who has spent his career building and directing some of Poland's most distinctive classical music festivals, including Misteria Paschalia and Sacrum Profanum in Krakow and the Opera Rara series.
