Mystic Festival in Gdansk
Mystic Festival is Poland's largest metal music festival, filling the historic Gdansk Shipyard with four days, five stages and more than ninety bands each June. Recent headliners have included Megadeth, Behemoth, Black Label Society, Anthrax, Down, Mastodon and Saxon, drawing metal fans from across Europe to a working shipyard setting.
Mystic Festival has grown, in roughly a decade, into Poland's largest metal music event by staging itself inside one of the country's most symbolically loaded industrial sites: the Gdansk Shipyard, the birthplace of the Solidarity trade union movement that helped bring down communist rule across Eastern Europe.
