Sunrise Festival is a large electronic dance music event held every July near Kolobrzeg on Poland's Baltic coast, tracing its roots to a DJ's informal name-day parties in 1999 before growing into a major big room and trance festival. Running across several days each July, it fills a former military airfield near Kolobrzeg with large stages dedicated to big room and trance electronic music.
Sunrise Festival traces its origin to 1999, when a DJ known professionally as DJ Kris began organizing parties at a small club called Miami Nice to mark his own name day, celebrated on July 25 according to the Polish tradition of celebrating one's saint's day.
