Poznan Marathon in Poznan
The LOTTO Poznan Marathon, named for the late Deputy Mayor Maciej Frankiewicz, has run since 2000 and now draws over four thousand finishers each October, forming part of the Crown of Polish Marathons circuit alongside races in Warsaw, Krakow, and Wroclaw every single year since founding.
When Poznan launched its city marathon in 2000, only 831 runners crossed the starting line, a modest beginning for what has since grown into one of the anchor races in Poland's Crown of Polish Marathons circuit.
