Neopop Festival in Viana do Castelo

Neopop Festival is Portugal's largest and longest-running electronic music and techno festival, staged each August at Forte Santiago da Barra, a historic seaside fort in Viana do Castelo, since its identity was established in 2006 as a successor to the earlier Anti-Pop festival founded by local organizers in the same coastal town.

Forte Santiago da Barra has guarded the mouth of the Lima river at Viana do Castelo since long before anyone imagined it hosting techno DJs, but for two decades now the fort has doubled each August as the stage for Neopop Festival, Portugal's largest and longest-running electronic music event.
