Festival del Tinglar in Luquillo
Luquillo, better known for its beaches, holds a Leatherback Turtle Festival each April dedicated to the tinglar, the critically endangered leatherback sea turtle that nests along the town's coastline. The festival is one of several civic events in Luquillo, which also hosts patron saint fiestas, a coconut festival, and a fishermen's competition-focused calendar.
Luquillo's beaches are best known internationally for surf, sand, and the roadside kiosks that line the town's famous shoreline.
