The story

European Music Open in Oradea

European Music Open is an annual Oradea festival, organized by the city hall with the Oradea Tourism Promotion Association, that stages music and cross-disciplinary art performances by international and Romanian artists across the city's museums, churches, theaters and citadel.

European Music Open was created by Oradea's city hall together with the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and the region, with backing from the State Philharmonic Oradea, the Regina Maria State Theatre and the Roman Catholic Diocese, to give the city a late-summer festival built around music rather than the medieval or heritage themes of its other autumn events.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Rather than a single stage, European Music Open spreads its program across Oradea's landmark buildings, the State Philharmonic, the Roman Catholic Diocese's churches, the Regina Maria State Theatre and the citadel, turning a tour of the city's architecture into part of the concert experience itself

02

The mystery stays covered

Its stated ambition is to bring European cultural personalities and institutions to Oradea, positioning the festival as a meeting point for classical and cross-genre performance rather than a single-style music event
